Training
Solid Ground is run by volunteers with lived experience, supported by training relevant to the people who attend our meetings.
This training helps us recognise when someone is struggling, respond appropriately and understand the limits of our role. Solid Ground remains a peer-support group rather than a clinical or emergency service.

Our volunteers have completed ASIST suicide-prevention training. This helps us recognise when someone may be thinking about suicide, speak about it directly and connect them with further support.

Our volunteers have completed Wave After Wave training, which develops understanding of suicide bereavement and the effect it can have on individuals, families and communities.

Solid Ground has completed the Thrive LDN training programme at Gold Level, covering mental health awareness, communication, resilience and suicide prevention.
